Hi, I’m Olivia.

Olivia Schroder is, first and foremost, a storyteller. Filmmaking, photography, podcasting, non-fiction, and poetry are her weapons of choice. She is compelled by the materiality of these time-based, ephemeral, or otherwise immaterial materials. This exploration unfailingly ushers her to themes of ancestry, ghosting, land, and interpersonal memory.

Phew, now that that’s over:

I’m pursuing a BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design in the Film/Animation/Video department. I focus in live action filmmaking and open media. I also have a concentration in Literary Arts.

I work primarily with digital video, 16mm film, sound design+mixing, 35mm still photography, poetry, and a non-fiction approach to telling.

I’m currently based in Providence, RI. However, I’m originally from Indianapolis, IN. Others have commented that my work has a ‘distinctly Midwestern sensibility.’ I wear that as a badge of honor.

I like to knit for my friends, star gaze, and ponder the existence of ghosts & extra-terrestrials.
